Al Gore: Still Awesome

Wednesday , 21, March 2007 4 Comments

This past weekend I was about to write a little bit about why I liked Al Gore  so much, but I decided to wait a little longer.  I think I need to get back on the ball with that though: Al Gore is still awesome.  For example, when he was on the Hill today talking about Global Warming, he got into a bit of a tiff with a GOP dude who was skeptical about the whole thing.  Gore says:

“The planet has a fever,” Gore said. “If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don’t say, ‘Well, I read a science fiction novel that told me it’s not a problem.’ If the crib’s on fire, you don’t speculate that the baby is flame retardant. You take action.”(emphasis mine.)

Seriously.  He’s funny.  He came as close as anyone else to inventing the Internet.  He was almost right about Iraq.  His daughter wrote for the Simpsons.  I don’t know what else we need in a president.  Seriously.

I wish he’d run because I think I am the only young person in America who doesn’t like the prospect of Obama or Clinton vs. the GOP in 11/2008.

I’d be so much more stoked on the presidential election if he were in it.

you’re weird. he’s such a nerdy weirdo… im thinking only smarty-pants,self-reflecting,indie-intellectuals would vote for him and ummm… i think you three are it.
    sorry.
plus, let’s be honest, he needs a master cleanse.
