Reasons why the YMCA is better than other gyms in Chicago

  • It doesn’t have a $75 start up fee (It’s $40)
  • It’s not $80 a month (It’s $40)
  • It doesn’t require a year-long contract (Unless you want one. But then it’s cheaper)
  • It offers a discount if you make less than 55k (Seems kinda high to me. Who makes 54k and can’t afford 40 bucks a month for the Y? Probably someone with 8 kids.)
  • It’s pool isn’t only 20 yards. (Of course, the pool won’t open until 2008, but whatever.)
  • It has a raquetball court and you don’t have to pay extra to use it.
  • None of the women working out there wear make-up (That I’ve seen)
  • There aren’t many (aspiring) professional bodybuilders to intimate you
  • It’s not in Lincoln Park or Old Town

Things that I don’t really like about the YMCA

  • Yoga is only twice a week, and at weird times even then. (But who really wants to do yoga?)
  • Like I said, it doesn’t really have a pool yet.

I wonder if people call it just “the Y” because they don’t want to have to say Y.M.C.A.? Cause that makes sense to me.

you know, i’m pretty sure that yoga + mastercleanse = enlightenment

At the very least, yoga+mastercleanse=reason to be made fun of, but I like where you’re going with that.
