We Went to Utah! Day 1

Hello friends! So Pop, Grant, and I went to Utah last week and we had a blast. I’m going to post the usual photos and captions that I like doing, with a little bit of narrative brilliance added for good measure. Cool? Cool. Also, I’m going to divide it into days so it doesn’t get too insane for me/us to manage.

Last Friday I flew to SLC and met Grant at the car rental place. We got a silver Yukon. Pop’s flight was late, so G & I cruised around the city for a little bit. The highlights of this portion include mishearing the word “Tahoe” as “taco” and thinking the car rental lady was gonna bring us lunch, finding out that Smith’s is Utahese for Menard’s, and discovering that Cafe Rio is a crappy Chipotle-style burrito place that serves, among other things, something called a “pork salad.” Yum. We got Pop after a while, then drove down to Bryce Canyon, took some photos, listened to portions of the broadcast of the Heat crushing our dreams, and then spent the night in Panguitch, UT.

We had dinner at (according to a vegetarian) a kinda gross, under-stocked restaurant whose best quality was being open. They also served some pretty decent beer. Apparently beer is easier to come by in Utah these days. There was a pretty decent blackberry cobbler. I mean the dessert, not a fruit that fixes shoes. Anyhow, here come the photos.
