So I’m having to postpone my brief bit about the records I bought yesterday, because I am still kinda totally enthralled with that Jeanette song, Porque Te Vas. I’ve already sent it to everyone that iTunes will let me, but I still want everyone to hear it, so I’m embedding a video from YouTube. There is a lot of stuff about Jeanette on YouTube, but it seems like she mostly lip-syncs. I only did a brief search, but it seems like its the same exact version of the song in all her performances, which is kinda disappointing. I was hoping there’d be something cool about the live stuff. Judging from the variety of fashions and production aesthetics in the YouTube videos, it seems she’s been playing this song in front of the camera from the mid 70s until at least the mid 90s, so that’s kinda funny. I’ve listened to the song 103 times so far since I downloaded it, yet I can’t get myself to watch the video all the way through. It’s distracting, even though Jeanette is pretty and that director fellow has chubby hands.
