Mint Chicks, revisited

I’m guessing this will be my second- or third-to-last post about the Mint Chicks. After my initial infatuation post-Anti Tiger EP, I stormed eBay and got their second EP, their first (and only?) 7″, and their first full length. I got the second EP, Octagon, Octagon, Octagon, on Monday, I think, and it was great. Today I finally received Fuck the Golden Youth, their first full-length. Despite having a handful of tracks in common with the Octagon EP, it’s pretty solid. More honest cowbell usage, which is something I’m way into. Now I’m just waiting for the 7″, which I think probably just has the same material as the first EP. When I see them in NYC, I’ll try to pick up the new cd. The title track, “Crazy? Yes. Dumb? No” has a sorta cool video, which I’ll probably embed. It’s a cool song though. Like I said when I first posted about them, their new stuff is reportedly a lot poppier than what I’ve heard so far.

Also of note, the same dude that mastered the new Modest Mouse record mastered the new Mint Chicks. Howie Weinberg. Apparently he’s famous, and he’s mastered records by… pretty much everyone in the entire world. Click that link for his mastering credits.
