Imagine theres a guy who’s like, an assistant manager at The Container Store, and they’re about to open up a new store, and he’s all pumped, and he says to his boss, “I’m so excited I can’t contain myself!” and then he gets fired.

ha.

I just watched the first episode of Daria, called “Esteemsters.” At the end, they went to a UFO convention and I swear I saw Joe Jack! Even though Mike Judge didn’t have anything to do with Daria, I still think it’s a part of the same universe. Awesome. It’s near the very end when they go to the convention. Here’s a screen grab of the character:

I’d find a picture of the real Joe Jack, but after looking fr nearly 5 minutes, I gave up. The resemblance is not perfect, but think about how close Hank Hill was to the guy he was more or less modeled on from B&B. Maybe an older Joe Jack, but still pretty close. The real question? What’s Joe Jack doing in Lawndale? Actually, now that I’m thinking about it, it makes perfect sense. The Hank Hill you’d often see in B&B was an older looking Hank Hill with a different name, but same voice, so it must be him. And now the Joe Jack is older too. that must mean that Daria and B&B take place in a future where Hank Hill is in his mid 60’s. That means Daria probably doesn’t graduate high school until like 2010 or so. Very peculiar. What a complicated little universe they live in… Check it out somehow. You can’t get Daria on DVD, probably because of all the music licensing it would require, but perhaps there are other ways. I’m not sure though.

Also, I was reading a bit on Wikipedia, and there’s apparently an episode of Seinfeld that Toby Huss, the voice of Joe Jack, appears in. Among other things in the episode, George plans to date his cousin/have them catch him making out with her. Sound familiar? The theme of the last pots has pretty much been plagiarismo. Nothing’s new anymore.

Maybe this is an old advertising cliche, so maybe it’s not a big deal. I’m not sure though. When I watched this video, it bore a pretty strong resemblance to a certain Homestar Runner intro video. Thoughts?

Here’s the Homestar one:

They both appear naked, too. Well, sorta. Anyhow, the Simpsons jokes have been copied by nearly every cartoon ever, as South Park pointed out years ago, so it’s not that big a deal. Still, I suppose this was the work of an ad agency, not the dorky Simpsons writers.

Here are all the videos from the European Vacation. Since it might take a bit to load on the main page, I’ve sequestered all the videos after the jump. The pictures from this trip can all be seen here. Read More

Another photo gallery. These are pics I took during a February 2005 trip to Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, and Cork. The videos from this trip can all be seen here.

Last Wednesday, the Drudge Report had a pretty bizarre headline. I took a screenshot… Well, it was more than a screenshot. You’ll see.

So I’ve decided to start uploading some old photo galleries from my previous sites. I think the most interesting is probably from my trip, now more than 4 years ago, to Peru. Being the most interesting, it’s the first one. I’m still kinda getting the hang of this new gallery plug-in, so it might look a little bit funny at first. There are about 800 pictures from the trip, just so you know. The videos from this trip can be seen here.

I know it’s probably (hopefully) never going to affect me, but it feels really good knowing that I wouldn’t die instantly/explode if I was in outer space without a suit.  Apparently I’d have about 15 seconds, and then I’d pass out.  Once I’m passed out, I don’t really see that anything else matters.  Still, very glad that I won’t blow up.
