Reporting from *B’s.

Silly. It’s cool to lazily blog via silly videos.

This went on for a solid 15 minutes. 15 minutes of awesome.

Some things that I think are awesome tonight:

So Long and Thanks For All the Shoes, by NOFX.  This albums really is great.  I kinda wish it were their last.  I recently looked for reviews of it when it first came out more than a decade ago, and most people didn’t like it.  I loved it then and I love it now, even while my other hundred or so pop-punk albums remain unlistened to for years.

The Postal Service (band) was nearly sued by the Postal Service (government agency) for trademark infringement.  Instead, they found a solution that benefited both groups and everyone was happy.  The band keeps its name in exchange for doing some promo stuff for the government agency.  I thought it was a joke when I first heard about it.

Hillary Clinton has suspended her campaign.  Her speech today was great.  I mean, any speech that resulted in her stopping would have been great, but I was glad to hear her enthusiastically support Obama.  Though there were a handful of us who wouldn’t have voted for one Dem had the other Dem lost, I hope that those people who really agree with Democratic Party principles will put those ideals ahead of their disappointment.  Of course, I’m only barely aligned with the Dems, but I hope I was in a tiny majority.

One thing that’s not awesome: the new dog tried to eat two of my records (Roots Radics and Caustin Resin) but he only was able to chew up the covers.  And he shit on my r*g.  Wait..  I mean he sh*t on my rug.  I mean he p00ped on my r(_)g…  Oh well.  I’ve had such good luck so far, I can’t complain about one incident.

This is Hunter, foster dog #4.  He’s a teeny little dude from a shelter downstate.  He stunk like crazy from the kennel, but he’s all bathed and smelling mostly good.  I think I must have missed a spot because he still kinda smells bad, but I’ll take him to a real groomer soon.

He’s in decent health, though he did just recently get over a case of kennel cough.  He needs to be microchipped and neutered, so I’ve got that to look forward to.  I’m sure there will be more updates in the coming weeks.  It’s going to be hard to live up to the high standard that Duke set, however he’s really sweet and he seems to be pretty into fetching, so I’m stoked.

(I do wish we could change his name.  It strikes me as cruel to call such a skinny little fellow Hunter.  Perhaps I’ll call him Gunther behind everyones backs.)

I’m sad. BUT at least my mobile blogging is working correctly.

So the AV Club, one of my favorite websites, is also the scene of some of the most intense firsties-battles. By that, I mean that I’ve never ever ever seen a post without comments, and a good chunk of the comments include some sweet “FIRST!” proclamations.

You can imagine my shock and surprise when , after reading this articule, I saw this:

So..  I didn’t disturb the peace, though I did kinda want to.  Some people think the firsties thing is lame.  I think its awesome, but I still can’t do it myself.

(Update: 3 minutes later there are three comments.  It’s 12:30 on a Sunday night.)

Still rules…

I first discovered this gem of a song in 2001, and it’s been one of my favorite songs every since then. The way it completely captured the cultural zeitgeist… It still blows me away. I anxiously await the next big thing and the songs that celebrate it.
