Tonight my power went out!  I was in the middle of watching the third quarter of the basketball game (Congrats Celtics!) and the power went out.  So of course I rushed outside…  because that’s what you do in a  power outage.  It was weird, because you realize how bright it usually is, with the street lights and everyone’s houses and everything.  I feel like the power went out on at least a monthly basis in Boston, but it hadn’t happened to me before in Chicago.  Maybe once in Wicker Park.

Anyhow, it was sweet.  The best part was that as soon as I went outside, I saw a naked dude sprinting around the corner and down the street.  Seriously, it was within thirty seconds of the power going out.  i can’t imagine the power going out and someone thinking “Rad, power out, time to streak!” because there was just so little time between his streaking and when the power went out.  They must have been related.  It’s especially odd because just the other night I saw a dude riding a bike naked downtown, though that was apparently related to a big naked bike riding event.

The second best part was when someone, outside on a super dark, clearly power-free block shouted down the street “Hey, is your power out, too?!?!?!?”  It was, shockingly enough, and some voice from down the block shouted back “Yeah.”  People are sweet.
