here’s something somewhat appropriate. When my family isn’t busy pretending to be Irish, they can be found pretending to be German, or so I think. Anyhow, apparently my name, “Brett”, is a German word that means “plank.” So that’s something. Also, in English, plank is a close synonym of “board,” which brings us nicely to the homonym “bored.” So it’s no surprise that I am so darn bored all the time, my being 100% German and whatnot.
More about my name. My first name mean something like “From Brittany” which means, if you’re in England, that I’m from just the other side of the channel. My last name means something like, “From the South,” which means, if you’re in England, that I’m from just the other side of the channel. So although it would seem I’m very English, everything about me suggests I’m actually French. That’s a shame and a half. Maybe even two shames. And my french, as we all know, is tres horible. So that’s something.
Anyhow, I’ve been at work all day. I just went to the bank and to kinkos on my lunch break. There are several Kinko’s close to my work, according to the website, however two of the three that are closest to me are not really Kinkos, but just Fedex counters. So I went to three different Kinkos. Kinkos. Kinkos. Then I got my stuff printed and came back to work. I’m not sure why I bothered coming today. I just play on the Internet. Internet.
Starting Monday I will be commuting to Deerfield, IL for work. They say it will only be for two months, and there is a week of vacation in the middle of it, not to mention some time off for New Years, I think. So i’ve got that to look forward to. It’s funny, my job. Most people know how I feel about it, but I would like to point out two particularly nice things about it. I have been without a project for the past two weeks, and I told the appropriate people that I would like my next project to be A- Anywhere but the suburbs, B- on a small project and C- in its very initial stages. Lo and behold!- I am staffed on the last phase of a gigantic project located in the burbs. That is awesome. My company rules it so hard. They really listen to their employees and make sure we are happy.
So tonight I am going to make a bunch of pins for Fellow Project and Jumpsuit, and then the Jumpsuit show is tonight. That should be totally totally awesome. The Safes, The Its, and Jumpsuit! What a night!
Oh, I had another thought. I always assumed that when I’m in the coma and eveyrone wants to pull the plug that everyone should in fact, pull the plug. But yesterday I gave blood, and I was thinking– if it is at all cost-effective, they should keep me alive and just keep me attached to a blood donation machine and harvest all my organs, you know? Just be a biological machine for as long as I can. But htat might be too expensive, and what if I was really not in a coma, I was just sitting there and couldn’t talk. I guess they can look at my brainwaves or something. If there is mental activity but I can’t move at all nor communicate, I think I might prefer dying and not donating a ton of blood.
🙂 :laugh:You make me laugh! Even when I try not to!
