apartment life

so i wonder how often members of the blogging community start off blogs with something to the effect of “it’s been soooo long since i wrote” followed by a bunch of blahblahblah. so anyhow, yeah its been awhile, who cares? i dont know what news, but I have been in my apartment in St. Louis for a week now, and it really has changed things for the better. but before i go on too long, lets play catch up.

backwards.

or should i say.. sdrawkcab

so today i was super tired all day, but i perservered enough after work to go buy some cds- monster trux Grind and the decemberists album I have now. I havent had a copy of grind for awhile, so I saw it and thought that I should buy it. I hope the artists get their money for it. then i went to walgreens and came back to teh apartment. before i went out, i ate a ton of food, just like i had been threatening all day today. i had two hotdogs… mexcan american fusion cuisine, i believe it is called. when you eat a hot dog in a tortilla. thats what i had. smartdog. and i had two pieces of bread with hummus, a bowl of cereal with soy milk, and some mushrooms and tofus cooked up with some curry relish and soy milk. i eat enough hippie food to supply a pacifist army.

so work was awful mostly because of last night i got locked out of my house, so I elected to go wait for my roommate to come up at the bar. and then when she got there we were so stoked to see each other after nearly three weeks that I stayed, despite not having packed and having had to get up at 5 in the morning to iron my clothes. but i handled it. and i woke up, and did my ironing somehow and then slept in the cab. i also slept in the plane and then i woke up after being asleep for about an hour only to find that we had been stuck in chicago the entire time. i started to get worrie dthat i had used all my ability to sleep while we werent even flying, but i was soon asleep again and did not wake up until St. Louis. And all day i was tired, and it was compounded by not having a lot to do and a lot of waiting. luckily, since i am a bad employee, i did a bit of talking online to pass the time, though not as much as i might have. i got into an argument last niht about how to pronounce contemplative (like aristotle) and it turns out I was right. It can be pronounced several ways. the way i do it i sthe second most popular way to do it, and the way my argue-ee said it was more popular, but there is ao a stupid bastard form that i dont like.

this weekend was fun, my friend john and i sailed in a regatta and we got second place, but no trophy, because we werent really racing, we just happened to beat everyone. i am not a ood sailor, but i am an improving sailor.

when aristotle said the best life was the contemplative life, I think he mean tsomething other than contemplating cobol programming. but I could be wrong.

i am going to houston this weekend, and it will be fun. i have to miss seeing the party downers at bar awsum but i do get to see the decemberists with built to spill. thats why i got this cd. i want to be more familiar. do my researh so i can perform better at the hipster fashion show.
i am going to go to bed. whoever wants to come visit me, they should do it sometime other than the first weekend in december, cause I might be busy then.
