First things first. I would like to wish everyone a very happy Mid-term Election Night. I went to the voting location and voted for any candidate that said they would reduce property taxes. I can’t handle those property taxes.

So I haven’t updated the blog in awhile, and the reason for that is mostly that my computer has been in the basement and I haven’t had any way to update the blog. That doesn’t mean that I havent been doing anything. Last time I updated, I had just gotten my new floors in, which was in late September. I moved in the first weekend of October, also my birthday. On my birthday, Raditude and my brother came over and helped me prep the house for painting. Unfortunately, we found out that the prep work was a lot more difficult than we imagined. We spent all day doing prep. Fun.

Anyhow, time goes by and I slowly stripped the painted woodwork and sanded it and stained it. There’s a lot of wood work that I tried to get all up to date, mostly in the living and dining rooms, but also a good bit in my bedroom. I got it all looking pretty decent, despite first using a stain that was about a thousand shades darker than what it previously was. Luckily I was able to fix it. All that needed to be done was get it painted.

The weekend before Halloween, my friend got married in Boston. I went, and my brother offered to paint a room or two while I was gone. When I came back, he had in fact painted the entire place- living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen. It looked amazing. Then my parents came up to Chicago last weekend, and they helped me completely move in, the brother did a little more painting, my sister in law put together furniture and made dinner, and my place is awesome. So that’s it. I am using my laptop, which is kinda lame and makes for less interesting blogging. Anyhow, check out the pictures!
