New Floors!

So I’ve gotten the floors refinished! (Pause for a plause…)

I am pretty excited about it. As you cansee, the floor has a really bright, warm, orangey look to it. Some people might say this is a result of the people doing a crappy job refinishing it, but I am pretty psyched on the way it looks.
You might recall that the back bedroom had a funny floor situation, but I think that the the results are pretty awesome.
The only real problem is that is makes the floor in the kitchen look bad. I think it’s fine though.
There are two things I need to do:

  • Install the ‘quarter-round’ border everywhere. It needs it.
  • I also need to strip and stain the word work that is still painted white.
  • I also need to actually move in, but I’ve gotten started.For a complete list of the pictures, click here, although I’ve already referenced most of them.

    Wow! The floors look fabulous! Maybe if I keep reading your blog, your skills will rub off and I will finally paint a room in our house. Yes, painting is my big project and I can’t get it done…so sad!

    pretty impressive change– why are the paintings in the basement? i thought you were living upstairs.

    I’ve been following your progress and I think the re-finished floors look fantastic!!!
