So I bought a propane torch. It is pretty awesome. As you have read before, the whole tile thing was really hard, so I decided I would get the torch. The plan was to lightly run the flame over each tile for about 30 seconds or so, and then hopefully that would make the glue lose some of its stickiness or bond with the wood floor. I bought the torch, tested out the plan, and let me tell you, it worked wonders.
When I first started on Thursday night, the floor looked like this, and then about an hour later, like this. Those are pretty good results if you ask me. Today, Saturday, the floor refinishers are working all day and will be finished by Monday. How’s that for excellent! All that will be left for me is putting in the quarter-round near the edges. Should be simple. All the pictures I took on this day are here.
I have to be moved out of my current apartment by October First, so I need to get the ball rolling with my move out. I guess that will have to start next weekend. Hooray.

Be honest, Brett. You bought a propane torch instead of a butane torch cause of your undying love for Hank Hill. But I will say, he would appreciate your hard work on the floor, I tell you what.
