Yo. So I posted a handful of pictures for when I was out and about during Looptopia, but I never got around to summarizing the event. I went downtown around 5 with the intention of meeting a friend of mine for a drink, and then going to the new Reckless downtown.  We met at the Plymouth, which has a great rooftop bar. It was a little windy, but on a warmer, calmer day it would be a great spot.  Unfortunately, after the bar, we were really close to an art show where they had free cheese and crackers, so we couldn’t really pass that up, so I had to skip Reckless. Once we got there, we were close to the Columbia College Manifest parade. The CC Manifest is… I don’t really know, but this year it happened the same time as Looptopia… which is aso hard to explain. They’re both essentially all night parties. Fun times. The Rat Patrol had a few bikes in the parade… They really love a parade. Anyone remember St. Ratrick’s 2004? After the parade, I tried to go back and get more cheese at the gallery, but they locked the door. Jerks. We hit up the Auditorium Theater tour that I mentioned earlier, which was great. The upper balcony of that place was super creepy and like.. at a pretty unmanageable angle, especially if you went there straight from the bar. I dealt with it though.
Post-tour, we cruised over to Daily Plaza where they had some band playing. I saw the guy from my old 7-11. He even remembered me! So that was weird. Then there was some spectacle-type activity where things were on fire and there was a dude/lady dressed in a rat outfit running in a giant spinning wheel that had some pyrotechnics going on. That was awesome, actually. I should try to find some pictures of that.  Actually, here’s one:

(the photo’s the tribune’s. they’ve got a lot more. check it out.)
Speaking of pictures, some people from Harrington College of Design were out taking photos of people posing with various props the brought along with them. I love good photography, so I posed for them and the handed me a card with the URL of where my photo would be. The next day, I went straight to that URL to see how good I looked the previous night. Unfortunately, the URL was for the entire collection of the thousand pictures they took of the night, not specifically mine. Bummer. So I looked through them, one by one. And I didn’t find it. Then I did it again, starting from the end. I didn’t find it. Then I got frustrated and was just at the point where I wanted to give up my dreams, when my good buddy who was helping me with my search said, “found it. page 54. top left corner.” Sweet. The reason I think I couldn’t find it is cause most of the photos were really clear and crisp and cool looking, and mine was blurry and lame and looked like someone who didn’t know how to take a picture at night would take a picture at night. You know, it looks like I took it. Anyhow, it was still cool, so here’s me:
And here’s the gallery. Apparently Harrington is mostly into interior design, judging by their URL: interiordesign.edu. I’m not complaining about the photo either, I mean I look pretty rad, it just.. you know. Anyhow, it was a fun time. I went to Beef’n’Brandy for dinner, which is possibly the least appealing restaurant name ever. Then the Green Eye, then home. Anyhow, good, fun night. I had pancakes the next morning.
I love the picture actually. So what is Looptopia?
