Lasgna

So I am making lasgna and ripping cds tonight, so that’s pretty cool. I went to the store today and did grocery shopping for the first time since I’ve lived at 2508frank. I bought a ton of vegetables, so I am going to try to eat them all before they go bad, which is actually pretty hard. I totally forgot to get oregano and balsamic vinagre, but I can always go back, I suppose.

Anyhow, so I am making lasagna from scratch.. well, I didn’t make the noodles, but whatever. Whenever I do things from scratch, they end up being also from memory/top of my head. So for today’s lasagna, I got some tomato sauce and mixed it with chopped garlic and a lot of chopped spinach, and then added some olive oil. Because all Italianish food should have lots of cheese and olive oil… I didn’t have enough sauce, so I also shopped the heck out of a tomato and added that to the sauce. I let the lasagna soak for a little bit, then I poured the sauce in, covered it with noodles, put a layer of eggplant, covered it with sauce, covered it with noodles, covered it with sauce, covered it with moz, mroe sauce, more noodles, then cheddar, and then in the oven at 350 for an hour. We’ll see how it is in about 5 minutes.

I didn’t cover it, and I didn’t cook the lasagna beforehand, so this could be a disaster. I think there are a lot of ways to make it though, so we’ll see if the one I threw together is awful or not. Did you know that Dinosaur covered Just Like Heaven, by the Cure? I didn’t until I got this cd. You’re living all over me. It’s pretty awesome, and Tarpit is fantastic, as is Sludgefeast. Anyhow, I am finally updating the ipod with all the cds I’ve bought in the last month and change… which is way too many. Like 20 probably. So I’ve got a stack here and I’m going through it.

I hope this lasagna doesn’t suck. If it does, it will be like 20 bucks down the drain.

    Update on lasagna!

It is actually pretty good, however not covering it, i believe, has mad the top layer of lasagna very crusty. I think I should have either put sauce on the very top, or just covered it with foil. Anyhow, it was certainly edible. I’m even proud of it, esp. considering there was no recipe.
