Look, a Rabbit!
Sunday, June 6th, 2010Rabbits. Man, what cuties! A ton of them live in Logan Square (more like Laporidae Square!!- ed.), and I often find myself winning stare-downs with them in the back yard. The other day I found one that was being particularly brave or stubborn or something, so I took out the ol’ phone and snapped a couple of photos, which I would like to share with the world. Every single one of these photos is super blurry, so really if you wanna see a picture of a rabbit, you should just click here.
- his little brother approaches and makes a pun about eating his words. but, since they’re frogs, it still just sounded like they were talking about… rabbits.
- The rabbit is the part in the middle of the photo.
- It just occurred to me that frogs are always talking about these cute little dudes.
- Okay, this one is kinda tricky, cause it’s so blurry, but you can still probably figure out which part of the photo represents rabbitness.
- When I was a kid, we kept rabbits that we inexplicably named after surfing apparel companies.
- I always associate Finland with rabbits, something about the Lapps and the Lagamorphs.
- Dogs kill rabbits.
- Am I the only one still chuckling about the frog joke?
- rrrrabbit!……rrrrrabbit!

Today’s Best Thing
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009Tired of those boring, old pennies?
Monday, December 1st, 2008Just in time for.. Well, nothing in particular, the US Mint is jolting us all out of what will surely be a deep post-holiday sleep with the exciting introduction of four new penny designs!
In 2009, the United States Mint will mint and issue four different one-cent coins in recognition of the bicentennial of President Abraham Lincoln’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the first issuance of the Lincoln cent.
Wow. Apparently the designs were unveiled months ago, but I somehow didn’t notice. And now I’ll probably not notice the first time I get one of the amazing new-fangled pennies. I’d like to take this time to thank the US Mint for giving me something to not care about.
I wonder what this guy would say:
I like thinking that our government, surely fully aware of all the good reasons for retiring the penny, finds a ground-breaking, innovative solution to the problem.
